It's Writer Wednesday and today I'm introducing you to Delaney Rhodes! Delaney is a indie author with a brand new release Celtic Storms: Book 1 in the Celtic Steel Series and she has Celtic Shores: Book 2 coming out soon. Delaney sent me a copy of Celtic Storms to read and review and let me tell you I was intrigued from start to finish. The cover, first of all, is just gorgeous.
I enjoyed how she built up the characters and twined the story together so effortlessly. The plot was well thought out so it made it an easy read that was hard to put down. I completely adore the main male character. Patrick is a gentle giant of a man while the female lead, Darina is a strong, feisty woman. This book had me laughing several times and at the end I was frustrated that it had ended already! Talk about leaving a cliffhanger so you can't wait for the next book! In fact I sent her a message afterwards saying something like "OMG I can't believe it ended like that...I need book 2 NOW! :)
I recommend this book for anyone that loves historical romance with a bit of paranormal flare in it. It truly is a fantastic and intriguing read and I can't wait for the next in the series. I was captivated from beginning to end, I just wish it hadn't ended so abruptly. My only negative thing to say about it is it does have some editing issues. I know there are a lot of books out there that have grammar mistakes but it can take away from the reading and for some, turn them off completely. Not me though, I couldn't put the book down! :) I give Celtic Storms 4 stars for being such a great read! Thank you for allowing me the honor Delaney!
A bit about the book:Darina O'Malley watched the sun set in the bay from the great tower in O'Malley castle - saying a silent prayer for her cousin Kyra and hoping the message that was delivered to the MacCahan's did not spell sudden doom for her and her people. If what her Uncle Ruarc had told her was true, she was to be married to a stranger in nearly a fort night and her world would turn upside down.
The realization that her clan held secrets which could destroy them forever chilled her blood. Who was this son of a Laird she was betrothed to and how would he react when he learned the truth?
